  • Developed new multiple analyte profiling immunoassay product line, for the simultaneous quantitative detection of up to ten human or mouse cytokines, using Luminex fluorescently dyed microspheres and Luminex 100 flow cytometric based reader.
  • Developed ELISA kits for the quantitative detection of over fifty human, monkey, mouse, rat and swine cytokines, growth factors and other biologically important proteins. Performed data analyses and wrote package inserts for these kits. Responsible for all phases of kit development and validation.
  • Developed, in collaboration with molecular biology group, new RT-PCR kit product line for the quantitative detection of human, mouse and rat cytokines; and PCR kits for the qualitative and quantitative detection of cytomegalovirus DNA and Epstein-Barr virus DNA. Responsible for kit documentation and transfer of this product line to production group.
  • Principal investigator and sole author of successfully funded Small Business Innovation Research Grant (SBIR) entitled: A Luciferase System for Nucleic Acid Detection. Goal: to use a modified flavin mononucleotide in a bacterial luciferase system for the nonradioactive detection of nucleic acids.
  • Provided technical support to successful synthetic efforts aimed at linking multiple horse radish peroxidase (HRP) molecules to streptavidin. Production of this streptavidin-HRP conjugate increased sensitivity of new and existing ELISAs, as well as eliminated need for purchasing this compound.
  • Responsible for the complete supervision of four research associates and two scientists, as well as sharing in the training of our sales and technical representatives, and international distributors.
